Heading to Realm Makers 2016!

This July I will be flying to Philadelphia to attend Realm Makers, a conference dedicated to Christian speculative* fiction. My plane tickets are purchased and the registration is sent in, now all I have to do is come up with a costume for their highly-acclaimed costume dinner / awards ceremony. Oh, and get my manuscript ready to pitch to agents and publishers - no big deal, right? :)

Not only will I have the opportunity to meet several of my amazing critique partners in person for the first time, but I've also been able to connect with many other writers who will be there. Let me tell you, this is an unbelievably fun, welcoming group! I can't wait!!

*If you're not familiar with the phrase "speculative fiction" (I wasn't until very recently!), it encompasses fantasy, science fiction, and related sub-genres, such as dystopian and steampunk.

  1. Looking forward to meeting you in Philly! I'm also strugggling with costume ideas. I've been thinking of fairy -- maybe. :-)
BTW, very nice website! I'd love to do a website with just my domain name, but I don't have any extra money for it. So for now, you'll fine me on weebly.

    1. Thanks, Jill! I'm looking forward to meeting you, too! Actually since writing this post when I was putting my website together I had a chance to go shopping and I found a costume! Yay! I went a fairly non-traditional route from what I've heard of other people's costumes, but I'll be comfortable, it will be easy to pack, and hopefully at least a few people will get a kick out of it - that's all I'll say for now so I don't ruin the surprise :) I hear you on the pain of having to pay extra money for a custom domain name, but at least my site is hosted on Blogger for free, which helps a bit. I'll have to check out your site on Weebly!
